چکیده
Background: The treatment of complex fractures Tibial plateau is challenging even for the most experienced surgeons. These injuries, affecting mainly younger population during their productive years causes a socioeconomic impact. A retrospective study was performed to evaluate Schatzker type V and VI, functional outcome, managed through internal fixation open reduction thus evaluated in this study. Materials Methods: In our study, we used Rasmussen et al., score patients. simple valid score, it helps patient’s access own perspective regarding surgical outcome. We have attempted present Type V/VI Schatzker’s proximal tibia tertiary care centre. With increase population, intern giving rise automobiles, has resulted more vehicle accidents. Results: conducted on 30 cases surgically treated closed analysed under criterias - sex, age, cause injury, fracture type, range motion, time taken union, occurrence complications. Conclusions: results show an excellent with surgery as there minimal soft tissue complication it. rigid bicondylar plating stability early mobilisation motion ensuring optimal recovery patient satisfaction.

PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to evaluate the results of the treatment of Schatzker type V and VI tibial plateau fractures using a midline longitudinal incision and dual-plate fixation. MATERIALS AND METHODS Ten patients with Schatzker type V and VI tibial plateau fractures treated with a midline longitudinal incision and dual plating were analyzed. The patients were followed for a mi...
متن کاملFunctional Outcomes of Internal Fixation of Complex Tibial Plateau Fractures: A Case Series
Aim: To study the functional outcomes of internal fixation in complex tibial plateau fractures. Materials and Methods: 51 patients presenting with complex tibial plateau fractures were treated between January,2013 to January,2016 with various modes of internal fixation depending on the fracture type. Subsequently the patients were followed up at 2,6,12,18 and 24 weeks and then at intervals of t...

Objective. To review functional outcome in high energy tibial plateau fractures treated by plating. Design. Retrospective analysis. Material and Methods. Sixty-five patients with Schatzker type V and type VI tibial plateau fractures treated with open reduction and internal fixation using plates were included in the study. The functional evaluation of the patients was carried out with Oxford kne...
متن کاملModified hybrid fixator for high-energy Schatzker V and VI tibial plateau fractures
High-energy tibial plateau fractures associated with severe soft tissue injury are difficult to manage. The risk of wound complications following open reduction and internal fixation is notably high owing to extensive soft tissue dissection. Alternatively, application of hybrid external fixator minimizes soft tissue dissection and provides adequate fracture stabilization to allow early range of...
متن کاملClassifications in brief: Schatzker classification of tibial plateau fractures.
Early attempts at classifying tibial plateau fractures by Palmer in 1951 [25], Hohl and Luck in 1956 [15], and Hohl in 1967 [15] recognized some of the major themes common to many classification systems for these fractures: split of a condyle, subchondral depression, and comminuted bicondylar involvement. Schatzker et al. published their classification system in 1979 [29], deriving it from the ...
